Phuket has long been a very popular beach resort holiday location particularly for visitors from Europe attracting over one million UK visitors alone each year. But as Phuket has developed a world class tourist infrastructure more and more visitors particularly families and couples are choosing the independence of renting  Phuket villas  rather than staying at a hotel.

If you want to walk more on the wild side than a visit to Bangla Road in Patong is only a 20 minute drive away from your Phuket villa.  You will need a sense of humor and an open mind but there is no other place in Phuket less like home. The show at Phuket Fanta sea is a another bizarre place to visit with trapeze artists, fireworks, elephants all mixed up to form a Vegas in Asia type show.  There is no where like it anywhere.

Within walking distance of  Phuket Villas is Wat Chalong which is the island’s most important temple. Visited by 10,000’s every year it is beautifully decorated with several exotic pagodas. Also almost visible from your Phuket Villas is the Big Buddha image which stands on the top of a hill that looks down over Chalong. It is over 150 feet high and which cost over a million pounds to build.

There are several festivals in Phuket each year. The Vegetarian Festival in September, a sometimes gruesome but fascinating spectacle.  Then there is Phuket’s Gay Festival which takes place around the same time as the Songkran Water Festival in April.
